Baste n Sauce was born of home-made marinade which was essentially a family recipe. it never really had a name it just became the favourite sauce to use around every family braai. This being such a delicious sauce, I used to image bottling and selling it.
Two years ago, I did just that, I bottled it and called it the Original sweet and tangy basting sauce. People enjoyed it very much and started to use it to not only baste their meat but veggies too, We discovered it worked well on pizza as a basting and it even gave a nice twist to savoury mince and pasta. It soon became an all purpose sauce. It was from this that the jalapeno sauce orginated, People liked the tanginess of the Original Sauce but wanted something with a bite as well
The jalapeno has now become the more popular of the twosauces as it can be used to cook with or offer as a dipping sauce on the side.
These sauces are an old family recipe that has evolved over time. A great basting sauce to use on any type of meat or vegetable.
It also works well as a basting on pizza or even as a dip on the side.
